Win and Judi Rittall said goodbye to their beloved 1968 Mercury Cougar CR-7 GT-E at the Owls Head Transportation Museum Auction, which got them $228,800 for their prized Mercury Cougar.

The Cougar was 1 of 3, with a 428 Cobra Jet Engine, 4 speed manual transmission and traction lock differential.
The Cougar hs only 54,530 miles and has been kept in the family since new.

Win inherited the car after his brother died in 2002 and the love for the car went from there.
Win’s brother bought the car at Park Motor Mart in Auburn on July 3, 1968. The original price – $4,899.95.
Kept in mostly garaged conditions all its life, it has never been driven in the snow or rain and apart from a bit of faded paint and cracked leather, the car is like it rolled off the factor line.

The car has now been sold to an undisclosed phone buyer and whoever now owns this magnificent Cougar has a true original rarity that will hopefully be cared for as much and as long as did the Rittalls.
