Can The Hennessey Venom F5 Hit 300 MPH?

Last month Hennessey announced the Venom F5, a vehicle that is expected to hit 300 mph and claim the title of world’s fastest road legal vehicle. This immense power will come from a 1,600 HP twin turbocharged V8 engine and weigh in at 2,950 lbs (1,338 kg).

Speculative high-end speed is one thing, but will the car be capable in reality? The great YouTube channel Engineering Explained goes through the process of explaining if the vehicle is capable of a 300mph benchmark, with all the maths to go along with the video.

Without giving spoilers here, you’ll have to watch the video to get an idea if the Venom F5 is capable of this new top speed or not. All interesting stuff………..
