2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Finally Rolls Off Production Line
By Dave Ashton
After what seems almost a year of hype and anticipation, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has finally been released into the wild with the first customer’s vehicle rolling off the production line. The starting MSRP being $84,995.
The rest of the customers that have bought into the vehicle will probably be getting their vehicles in the next few weeks, with the FCA saying deliveries will start, ‘following containment at the plant.’ This is a bit ambiguous, but as production has already started and the news is out, it won’t be long before customers can enjoy their new beast. The real question now is when these beasts will hit the street and we can give them a proper test drive.
To give you a reminder of why this new-age muscle car has caused so much fuss, is down to its 840HP, 6.2L V8 powerhouse and eight speed automatic transmission, being the highest horsepower of any production car. It’s also got a few other firsts up its sleeve with the highest GeForce by a production car, , the first production car to be able to pull a wheelie on launch and the world’s fastest 0-60mph/quarter-mile production car. Basically, more power and faster than an exotic supercar at a fraction of the price.
That’s what we call the new age of muscle car, kids…..
