It’s not often you find somebody who just left a rare pony car in a barn, forgot about it for 30 years and then decided to sell it. However, this is the case with this 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302. The owner says they bought it in 1986, used it for a few years, then replaced it with a Buick Grand National in 1988. It has been in storage until now.
For what is considered a barn find, this Mustang is in relatively great shape and the images don’t show any sign of any major rust. If the mileage is correct at 29,301, the powertrain should be in good shape for a strip down and restore. The brakes are apparently stuck on, but that’s a minor consideration. The interior images, show everything intact with an apparent Shelby center console. The ad. also says the car has a ‘Shaker Hood, Sport Slats, Koni Shocks, Magnum 500 Rims.’
For what is considered a barn find this Mustang if sold near its current bid price, would be a worthy vehicle and although it’s not a complete time capsule, it’s definitely worth consideration. The car does show signs of deterioration here and there, but the car looks solid enough to almost be a buy and drive if it wasn’t for the brakes being stuck on.
Keep an eye on this one.
