2019 Bullitt Mustang Now With 475hp and 163mph

Ford have brought back the Bullitt Mustang in all its glory, echoing attributes in the original Steve McQueen vehicle unveiled at the North American International Auto Show, along with the original car. The special edition model should be available this summer and comes with a 5.0-liter V8 engine, delivering 475 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque, with a top speed of 163 mph.

The car also has a manual transmission with a white cue ball shift knob to follow the original along with an active valve performance exhaust system, new Black NitroPlate™ exhaust tips, Open Air Induction System, Shelby GT350 intake manifold and powertrain control module calibration. Other items that come as standard include a 12-inch all-digital LCD instrument cluster which features a Bullitt welcome screen.

The exterior comes in the classic Dark Highland Green and also Shadow Black, with minimal Bullitt attributes which include chrome accents around the front windows and grille and minimal badging. The interior features leather trim with green accents and stitching. Options include:

RECARO® black leather-trimmed seats.

The original movie featured two 1968 Mustang GT fastbacks. the one driven by McQueen was sold by Warner Bros. privately and the one used for the stunts originally went to a junkyard, but resurfaced in 2017. The one driven my McQueen was purchased by Robert Kiernan in 1974 and then passed on to his son Sean after the car was thought to be lost for many years. It only recently resurfaced and was shown with the unveiling of the recent edition car.
