The 2018 Dodge Demon New Video Shows RWD And Toolbox
By Dave Ashton
The latest teaser video for the upcoming Dodge Demon still doesn’t give much away, but it’s one step closer to the final product which shows a demonic type racing driver opening a parts box and pulling out what looks like a floor jack, torque wrench and cordless impact driver.
The short video then goes on to show the parts on the floor with two thin tires, pointing the way possibly to a full drag racer which is also street legal. The initial images of the Demon show huge wide Nitto drag radials in previous shots and the toolbox is there maybe for swapping out the tires from street to drag strip tires and parts, further implying the performance aspects of the new Demon.
The video doesn’t give any more glimpses of the upcoming car, but the video clip does give a description of, ‘The Demon’s crate is full of Direct Connection mods.’ This implies Mopar’s bolt on performance parts, which used to be referred to as Direct Connection, further implying the racing features.
Dodge have also released a photo of a nameplate badge attached to the box featured in the video. The naming of ‘built for: Tom Coddington’ refers to Mr. Coddington who was a member of Dodge’s drag racing team in the 1960s. The serial and VIN numbers are curious, but we could speculate for weeks on what the numbers actually refer to at this time.
