The Chevrolet Corvette has been part of the automotive landscape for over 60 years and has proven to be one of the best and world-renowned American sports cars. 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, now in its seventh generation is proving to be one of the best.

The 2017 seventh generation Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport comes with a 6.2L LT1 V8 OHV 16-valve engine, producing 460 hp with 465lbs. ft. of torque through a seven speed manual transmission, which is good for 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and an eight speed automatic transmission which can do the same in 3.6 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds weighing in at 3,464 pounds.

It may not have the total horsepower or torque output of a Dodge Hellcat, but it more than makes up in the realms of agility and track performance, pulling a maximum lateral acceleration of 1.18 g. Grip and handling have been much improved on the latest model with 4-wheel antilock brakes, dry oil sump, but also plenty of internal extras – rear vision camera, GPS Traction Control, airbags all round, MyLink 8-inch diagonal touch screen, 4G LTE Wi-Fi and Apple Carplay. EPA of fuel consumption comes in at city 16mpg, highway 25 mpg and combined 19 mpg.

The Grand Sport starts at a base price of $66,445, which means that the vehicle is among the best in the sub $100,000 category and can deliver world class performance with handling as good as the rest. The manual version is probably the one to go for and all things considered, the new Corvette can hold its head high being one of America’s latest finest.
