2017 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS Indy 500 Festival Cars

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway have taken delivery of 101 special 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertibles for the 2017 Indy 500 Festival Cars. The cars will be for official use and eventually for sale to the public in the Indianapolis area.

The cars will be used by all the officials at the event while they travel around the metro Indianapolis area. Traditionally, GM would produce 51 vehicles for the festival and the Indy 500. After use the vehicles would then be sent to dealerships around Indianapolis, but these were in the past traditionally used vehicles.

Now, 101 vehicles are being produced with 51 being used for official use and 50 for public sale. ‘It is a pleasure for Chevrolet to support the efforts of the 500 Festival board members with these special Camaros, as they serve as ambassadors for the Speedway and the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 in their communities and generate excitement ahead of the event,’ said Jeff Chew, senior manager of strategic planning and operations for Chevrolet Racing.

All the Indy 500 Festival Cars will have the LT1 V8 455hp engines with automatic transmissions, with the Z4Z package which includes the Summit White exterior, blue centre stripe, black convertible top, red fender hashmarks, red grille accents, Adrenaline Red leather interior and Indy 500 logos.

If you are one of these fine festival cars they should be available at an Indianapolis dealership in the near future.
