2016 Shelby GT350 VS 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat

Here we have a classic, modern drag race shootout between arguably two of the most popular modern muscle cars. A 2016 Shelby GT350 vs. a 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

Both vehicles are highly capable in their own rights, with their own specialisms.
The 2016 Shelby Mustang GT350 has a 5.2 L, 315ci. 32 valve small block V8 engine, capable of 526 HP and 429lbs. Ft. of torque and weighs in at 3,520–3,800 lb.
The 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat has a 6.2L, 370ci. supercharged hellcat V8 engine with 707HP and 650lbs. or torque and weighs in at 4,439 lb.

The Ford is down on power compared to the hellcat, but is the lighter of the two cars. the hellcat having the most power, should in theory do the best in a straight line, but it is the heavier of the two cars.
As in all drag races, it’s not just about the individual vehicles, it’s also down to the drivers. How well they can launch and keep it going.
