2016 New York Motor Show: Bandit Trans-Am Mashup

Smokey and the Bandit has now been reborn in the shape of this new Camaro mash up.
Featured at the 2016 New York Motor Show, it turned heads alright.

We have featured in the past a few of these modern interpretations of classic muscle car. Some of them custom builds, some made from body kits. They mostly follow the lines of those vehicles which don’t have modern counterparts, such as Pontiacs and Plymouths.

This example is a take on the Burt Reynold’s Smokey and the bandit Pontiac Trans Am, based on the previous generation Chevrolet Camaro.
To give it the Trans Am look, a carbon fibre targa roof was added, carbon fibre shaker from the LSX V8, Trans Am like nose and tail, hand painted gold highlights and Pontiac touches throughout.

The car is a limited edition of just 77 vehicles, each signed by Burt Reynolds himself.

We guess if there was a 2016 Pontiac Trans Am around, it would look very close to this one.

Even Buford T. Justice would approve…..maybe.
