1981 Footage Of Modified Eliminator Connecticut Dragway

This is a rare piece of footage of a long gone class and track. The Modified Eliminator at a 1981 NHRA Divisional Connecticut Dragway.

This E/G Corvette part in the modified eliminator class, popular back in the late 70s and 80s.
The appeal was highly wound small block engines with manual transmissions, e.g. a 300ci cranked up to 10,000 rpm, but with strict rules and regulations the class eventually dwindled.

The Connecticut Dragway was one of the top strips on the East Coast, which is now owned by Consumer Reports used for vehicle testing.
