The original Dodge Dart(not the 2014–2016 models) was produced from 1959–1976. The fourth-generation models proved to be the best ranging from a sedate 170ci.(2.8 L) Slant 6 to a huge 426ci.(7.0 L) 2G Hemi V8. This ’73 model has had a replacement 440ci. V8, A833 four speed transmission and ‘custom made Dana 60 rear end with 3:73 gears,’ amongst other upgrades.
The engine is now a 440ci. and been completely overhauled by Marsh performance, with the seller saying they have two pages of information on all the upgrades. This Dart originally had a slant 6, 3 speed on the column transmission.
The exterior looks in great condition – ‘gone through a high end paint correction with ceramic coating’ which makes this Dart straightforward, but enhances its sleeper looks. No rust evidence on this one.
The interior is all original and literally very ‘green.’ Very well kept with a bench seat and just enough instrumentation to get the job done. Once the engine was upgraded it seems that the custom features moved onto other areas such as ‘Hemi leaf springs, TTI ceramic coated headers with complete 2 1/2” dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers’, carpets added with the seller providing a full list to the next owner. The car also comes with the original build sheet.
This Dart is a clean and crisp example of a customised original, with plenty of upgrades, which will last for years to come. It’s a straightforward old school racer, but be quick as there’s not much time left on this listing.
