Unique options on a pony or muscle car can make a huge difference between prices and uniqueness and this is the case here. This is the case with this 1971 Ford Mustang Convertible which if it was just a convertible would be 1 of 6,121, but with the unique bumper guards is actually only 1 of 2. Those option choices made back in the day count alot today.
The 71 models were moving into the 70s fashion for larger, more luxurious vehicles with steadily less grunt under the hood. But this doesn’t mean they are not bona fides classics and cherished like other vintage vehicles. This example has a nice back history and has definitely been well maintained over the years.
It’s on its third owner, with the last one on in the car from 1972 through to Oct 2016. The present owner has given the Mustang a new fuel system, carb. rebuild, new ignition system and new brake master cylinder. The convertible top was replacing 2007, along with the carpet. it’s also had a repaint sometime in the past, but not stated when. The car comes with a Marti report verifying its credentials as one of two.
This is a surefire winner of a Mustang at a reasonable price which can be driven and enjoyed, has rarity, but not so much that you’re afraid to drive the thing. A possible one to shortlist if your after a reasonably priced early 70s Mustang.
