1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454s pop up from time to time for sale in various conditions, but it’s not often you find one which is a convertible in top-notch condition. There are supposedly only 100 LS5 convertibles ever built and only five built in this color combo.

The Chevelle SS 454 was the king of the road back in the day, with its huge 454ci. V8 engine and bulky looks, made for a clearly powerful vehicle. This one comes with a built sheet and as you would expect that this type of price, everything in top-notch condition.

The de facto White SS Stripes are present and the power convertible top seems to be new, probably as part of its full frame off restoration. The description says that even the felts and seals have been replaced along with many other items giving a factory new feel. From the description, it’s clear that the car has been completely gone through from head to toe, replacing everything along the way and leaving the main things original.

The main draw of the 1970s Chevelle SS is its 454ci. V8 engine, which in this case is 3963512 casted, Holley carb. with a ’70 model GM Aluminum Intake (3963569). This goes through a Muncie 4 Speed transmission to a 12 Bolt Posi rear end. This car is clearly a classic of its time and a rarity of its species, the question here is if you are prepared to pay the asking price of $139,995.00. It will be interesting to compare this price to a few years from now as it’s very possible that the asking price now will seem cheap in comparison.
