When it comes to muscle cars, AMCs are usually overlooked, but this could be a good thing as their prices could slowly rise over the years until they do become that great find……….. it does happen…..
This AMC AMX could be one of those cars, especially with the ‘Go Package.’
This car is in show condition, has rare options ticks most of the muscle car boxes.
Definitely worth a consideration, especially for AMC lovers.
‘The took 4th place in her 1st judged show at the prestigious Detroit Autorama in March 2015. It’s the largest in-door car show in the U.S. with 800+ cars (It’s Judged by the NHRA).’
‘This is the real deal high performance 1970 X-Code 390 Ram-Air Go-Package 4-speed w/factory Hurst shifter. The whole car , including body, engine, drive train & front suspension was rotisserie restored in 2002- 03. There are currently approximately 6,700 miles on everything.’
‘The whole body was media blasted all the way down to its bare rust-free metal. Then the original color (bittersweet orange) was changed to amc P-90 Golden Lime, with the correct black C-stripes replaced (there is ZERO trace of the old paint color anywhere). The body & paint are in excellent condition, including all original floor pans & trunk floor .’
‘The engine has approx 6,800 miles since being rebuilt. It looks all stock, except for the Holley carb, MSD ignition system & Beautiful polished aluminum Doug’s headers. The exhaust sounds very wicked coming out of 3-inch exhaust pipes & Magnaflow mufflers. It has the original satin chrome valve covers with the factory X-code I.D. tag (the ID # breaks down to the engine being built on 9/03/69). ‘
‘The engine was disassembled & inspected, then totally re-sealed (incl. rear/main seal) & re-painted with classic amc blue metallic in Aug 2014 (Looks awesome). The engine compartment received a full detailing while the engine was pulled out for painting, everything that was black was repainted.’
‘The T-10 4speed trans is excellent & shifts beautifully. It has a Brand new clutch plate.
The Hurst shifter shifts effortlessly to transfer 450 ft lbs of torque to the D-code “Dual Grip” 8.75 inch rear end with a 3.91 gear. Power brakes work great & come with 11 inch front disc brakes + 10 inch rear drums.
All lights, gauges, heater, wipers & squirter work. Aftermarket tach was added for much easier viewing.
The car comes with the original 14 inch magnum-style ralley wheels (including trim rings) + E70 & E60 BF’s.
The new 15 inch Magnum 500’s & new BF’s are NOT included, but could possibly be negotiated.
A very nice remote Alarm system (Code Alarm) has been installed, it comes with 2 remotes/clickers.
An Alpine stereo/cd system (w/removable face plate) was installed last year. No holes were cut in the front or rear dash. The original working am/fm radio with perfect dash plate can be slid right back into the dash with zero issues. New 6 x 9’s were installed to replace the original dry-rotted Sparkomatic speakers (underneath the rear dash). I have some extra parts & items that will come with the car (I’ll even throw in the black fuzzy dice). ‘
