1969 Oldsmobile Hurst Prototype

 

Engine: Correct 455, no the original 517 built by Dale Smith.  Don Morton blew up the 517 motor racing.
Transmission: Automatic.
Interior is all original except for the two front seats were recovered.
All original Glass.

 

The car was the prototype for the 1969 Hurst Olds painted gold base pearl white by Chuck Miller for George Hurst to promote the 1969 Hurst Olds.

 

It was the first 1969 Hurst Oldsmobile.
The car was in the New York Auto Show to introduce the 1969 Hurst Olds.
It had a special 517 motor built by Dale Smith for George Hurst
Thecar spent most of its life in Detroit except for shows, exhibits and other functions to promote Hurst Performance Products.
Don Morton who worked for Hurst Performance Research in 1969 and drove the car for two years after the 1969 year model was done. He drove the car for two years from approx 1970 to 72 as his personal driver while at Hurst Performance Research then Hurst sold the car.
