1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Twin Supercharged, 1320 HP
Engine: 582 Twin Supercharged BBC.
Transmission: JW Transmission 400 Turbo Billet Race.
Exterior Color: Chrome Yellow.
Current bid: US $60,322.00
This car is one of those tales of a vehicle being found in a completely disused state, then being taken to the wonderful racer you see here.
In a lot of respects, it’s a total labour of love to take a car that was sitting on blocks in a field to something that has had over $100,000 spent on it. That’s dedication.
As you can see, this is a fine vehicle in every way, but the decision is with all the working parts involved, is it worth a bid?
With the current price of $60,000, and not much time left, yes if you’re in the market for resto mod or classic racer.
‘The car was purchased in 2008 from the original owner and was found in a field sitting on blocks at the time of purchase (paid $600).’
‘Currently, the car has undergone a Pro-Street Restoration totaling more than $120,000+ with all receipts and very well documented photo album and timeline.’
‘The car has made 7 chassis dyno runs, producing 1320 RWHP on 16 PSI of boost & Zero Nitrous. The engine is capable of sustaining a higher amount of Boost to produce an estimated 1750 Crankshaft Horsepower.’ Sweet!
‘The driveline is a JW Transmission Billet Race Series Turbo 400, Manual Valve Body, Trans-Brake, & a 3700 RPM JW stall converter. The driveshaft is an all aluminum 5″ custom shaft with 4340 billet yokes. The rear End is a 35 spline 9″ Ford rear housing, Mark Williams gear set w/4:88 ratio, Moser custom axles, and Positive Traction differential.
The fuel system uses twin Magna Flow Pro-Series fuel pumps, canister filters, Magna Flow regulators, 20 gallon billet aluminum foam filled fuel cell, & all air-craft quality AN Fittings from front to rear.
The car has a custom 10-point roll cage, Simpson 5-point cam-lock harnesses, Carrillo Seats, TCI shifter, & Custom hand built dash/gauge assembly with Auto-Meter Pro-Comp gauges. However, the car utilizes the factory dash pad, pillar posts, door panels, head liner, mirrors, & many other factory parts to keep the feel of the original 68 Chevelle and are all brand new. This car is only taken to “2” car shows per year and has won an average of 4 awards per show. The car is climate control garage kept, never been driven over 2 miles at one time (extended chassis dyno time not counted), has never been wet (not even washed…..ever!!) and is routinely started with a warm up period. Fuel and Engine Oil is maintained every 4-5 months to keep everything fresh. This car is a Pro Street car and could easily become a driver with the addition of an intercooler system to cool the superchargers and street approved tires.
All lights and electrical work and with the right set of tires know one would know what was under the hood of this amazing car. The interior is all high end custom, the under carriage power coated or painted depending on the item, but is clean enough to eat off of. Again, too many things to list on this car. I will add more pictures, but wanted to get the post up and going today.’
$40,000 invested in Paint and Body.
$49,000 invested in Engine and Driveline.
$14,000 invested in Interior.
$20,000 invested in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension, Frame, Powder Coating, Electrical system, Fuel system, Billet components, and CNC work.
