1966 Oldsmobile Toronado: A True Survivor
Engine: Factory 425 V8, four barrel carb.
Transmission: Automatic.
Mileage: 72,000.
‘Original Garnet vinyl interior and carpet.’
The Oldsmobile Toronado is somewhat of an oddity, being Oldsmobile’s front wheel drive offering, not exactly fitting into the muscle car rear wheel drive family, but originally as a competitor to the Ford Thunderbird and Buick Riviera.
You have a longitudinally mounted 425cu V8, front wheel drive, with a 3-speed TH-425 automatic. This design, based on the E body lasted until 1970.
This example is probably the most well-known, the first year, in red, original engine, transmission and all original parts, but the best thing is the price.
You are still getting muscle car powered, maybe not as popular as the other makes, but just as beautiful and full of character.
The Toronado doesn’t fit neatly into one group of cars as well as its competitors. Not exactly muscle car, not a complete luxurious cruiser, which means what other people overlook, is your gain.
If you want a great example from this time period without breaking the bank, choose this great Oldsmobile Toronado and you will really have a head turning on your hands.
