9778789 casting code, a WS code stamped under the passenger side cylinder head.
An E286 (May 28th, 1966) casting date in the distributor valley.
Correct chrome valve covers and air cleaners.

– Transmission: Muncie 4 Speed Manual.
Cue ball shifter.
– GM 10-bolt rear axle.
– GTO unique diagonal pattern seats.
– Hood tach wasn’t available in ’65, now detailed in-dash gauges.
– Turquoise, Pontiac-branded horn button.

– In 1994, the previous owner found this GTO as a rolling chassis, missing the engine, transmission and in needing a complete restoration.
–  Concourse Gold Award from the GTO Association of America in 1998.
