1933 Ford Renaissance Roadster Wins Ridler Award At 2017 Detroit Autorama
By Dave Ashton
The Don Ridler Memorial Award is given each year to a custom car maker at the annual Detroit Autorama. This year the award went to an incredible 1933 Ford Roadster, named the ‘Renaissance Roadster’ which was built by Steve’s Auto Restoration of Portland, Oregon.
The roadster is a finely tuned custom made from hand-formed aluminum panels and custom steel chassis. The engine is an all aluminium Chevrolet performance 427 CI. connected to a GM 4L60 4-speed automatic transmission. There is also independent rear suspension with custom control arms and linkages, Wilwood disc brakes with custom wheels.
Custom items have been added to the interior, such as a 1930 Nash instrument cluster, period correct Chrysler headlights and custom interior. As you can see from the video, this is an incredible vehicle all round. You can find out more about them here http://www.realsteel.com/
