Plum Crazy: The Muscle Car Color.

Some cars we love just because they are what they are. Take a Superbird. For those that love them it’s because of the wing, the style of the heritage. Color is usually secondary. But, let’s shift gears to one of my all time favorite cars. The 70 Road Runner. Not much difference as you know but I love those tail lights. Now, mix in that plum crazy purple and I am hooked like a Carp.

Yes, some might say hemi Orange is the way to go but plum crazy is really the only way. When you see an older Mopar and its plum crazy you just know to relax and all will be fine.
Plum crazy was 1 of 10 high impact colors(HIP) released by Mopar in 1970. other manufacturers try to follow suit. But never made the same impression.
Since 2010 Dodge celebrated 40 years of the Challenger and have re-released some of these amazing colors, including Plum crazy.

The color however is nothing without the vehicle. Fat rubber in the back to remind you that this car can light them up. Dual exhaust, small pin stripe up front, black interior and so on and so on.
40 years on, and these high impact colors still turn heads.
