22 Year old Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Owner Caught Doing 198 mph

One video and news report that is doing the rounds at the moment is of 22-year-old William Jefferson, who posted a video of himself online driving his Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat at 198 mph, posting the video on YouTube and subsequently being arrested. Someone saw the video then posted it to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol who took matters from there.

The incident took place on US-1 near Triangle Expressway Wake County, North Carolina with the original video showing Jefferson performing not just the high-speed straights but also doing donuts. As of now it seems he’s been charged with careless and reckless driving along with street racing.

Comments online have been coming in on both sides of the fence. Those saying it was a clear and empty road with the incidents happening late at night, others saying this is just straightforward reckless driving, while breaking the speed limit.

It’s straightforward, if you want to test the capabilities of your performance vehicle then get on a designated track. Agree with it or not, speed limits are in place so it’s just simply better to be safe than sorry. Then you can post your videos of the event on You Tube without repercussions.
