Who Wins Out Of The Track Day Specials: A Viper ACR Vs Mustang GT350R Vs 911 GT3 RS

This is an interesting comparison as these three vehicles may not be in direct competition, but they do all serve as street legal track day vehicles with tons of power and driving pleasure. It’s also a bit of American muscle up against German engineering which is always a nice head-on battle.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350R has a 5.2 L V8 with 562 hp and priced at around $60,000. The Viper ACR has a 8.4L V10 with 645 HP and a manual transmission. Lastly is something called a Porsche 911 GT3 RS with a 4L flat 6 with 500hp. All the reviewers seem to like the 911 for both steering and handling, and along with power, bringing it out on top but I think the takeaway here is that the GT 350R is a quarter of the price of the 911, but it’s not quarter of the car. In real-world terms, even at these price points people want the most vehicle for their money and the modern Shelby Mustang seems to deliver that in droves. reviews are grey to just outline the best, but what you get for your money is in reality most people’s priority.

Sure, if you have $200,000 to spend on a vehicle you get more of the pick of the bunch, but it’s safe to say that the modern muscle/pony car does give you the most driving excitement and pleasure for your money and this should be the main takeaway when considering some track performance. if I have to pick I’d go for the Shelby GT350R and have a year or two off work to enjoy the car with the money I’d save.
