Two 1970 Plymouth Superbirds Found In Basement After 25 Years
John Fardone is one lucky man. he got the tipoff to find not one but two Plymouth Superbirds, stashed away few years in New York basement.
The story starts when Ed Bowers bought a Mopar off John and the two stayed in touch. Ed. then got a tipoff about a pair of Superbirds. As John was the nearest to the location, Ed. gave him first chance to buy. this was back in 2015.
On first inspection, they found in numbers matching 440ci. Lemon Twist, with a six-pack induction system upgrade done in the 90s.
The sacking car was also a 440ci. in Hemi Orange, the had a replacement 440 four barrel under the hood. this one has a torn interior vinyl top and have been repainted in the 80’s.
Luckily, both cars were relatively rust free. They were also stored in the basement for years as he had complaints from the neighbors, making himself two Birds he had at the time, leaving two left.
The cars were then shipped back to Philly for a full restoration after their years underground.
Now, one of the birds belongs to John and the other belongs to Ed. nice deal all round.
