Top Gear Show Off The Dodge Challenger Demon

Top Gear UK have finally caught up with the Dodge Challenger Demon to show the UK public not only the merits of this fine muscle car, but bring them up to speed on what modern muscle stands for. Matt Leblanc from Friends fame amongst others, gives the viewers an overview of the car down the dragstrip which you can check out in the video below.

This snippet is clearly aimed at UK viewers who in general know nothing about drag racing or muscle cars, simply because it is more a niche thing over there, with everything east of the Atlantic ruling the roost automotive wise. Ford have been around forever in Europe, but whether our own European styled vehicles. Chevrolet have a foothold, but the offering to mainly for standard family vehicles or hot hatches. American vehicles, especially muscle cars are gaining more popularity, but nothing like they are on home turf.

Anyways, back to the video, Matt gives the run down of your typical drag race done in a Dodge Demon. First you need to warm the tires by creating a smoke plume bigger than Mount St. Helens in angry mode. The line lock function brakes the front wheels so you can spin up the rears. Then left foot on the brake, hold in both paddles, rev up the engine, release the left paddle, foot off the brake, release the right paddle as you hit the throttle and off you blast. Matt’s impressed, so should you be.
