Police Armored AWD Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

Armoured and with muscle is more like a strapline for a new He-Man figure, but in this case it’s to describe the new Armormax AWD Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. It’s not just the levels of armour which is unique, but also a first for an all wheel drive Hellcat.

Armormax can offer different levels of armoured protection along with AWD as part of an in-house conversion, pushing all 707 horsepower from the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 to the four wheels. The levels of bullet-proofness come in B4, B5, B6, and B7 ballistic protection, with protection level also for the battery, fuel tank radiator and ECU. This also covers the addition of ballistic armored glass, police-spec lighting, run-flat tires and push bar.

There’s other options which include exterior listening devices and bomb blankets. Prices are expected to be touching the $100,000 mark from the base price of a $65,345 Hellcat. There is clearly going to be a weight increase with all that extra armour, but the end result is probably going to be like a battle tank with muscle car power. More like something from the fast and furious movies or Knight Rider than a real life vehicle.
