After doing a little digging around online to see exactly how rare a ‘Winchester Gray’ Cuda actually is, we can’t find any stats for how many were sold in 1972, but we can at least give you exact codes for that color:
Paint code: A4.
Colour name: Winchester Gray.
Chrysler number: AY2GA4
Ditzler Acrlyic Enamel: 2314
Dupoint Acrylic Lacquer: 5245L.

This is a fine example of the year, tons of options and documented as a ‘S’ vin number ‘special build.’
As Cuda prices are going through the roof, this example is at a reasonable price for this quality of muscle car.

The Cuda is loaded with Options such as Facotory 4 Barrell Carburator, Factory BillBoards, 3.55 gears, Rim-Blow Steering Wheels(Really Rare) Factory Air, Rear Defogger, Factory Wing car in the front and back, Rally Dash, Turn Signal indicators on the fenders and they work, Factory 6 way driver Leather Seat, Power Steering, Front Disc Brakes, Factory 4 Speaker Stereo, Center Console & Power Windows & Factroy 15X7 Wheels.
The Vin # reads as.
B=Barracuda
S=Special
23= 2 Door Hard Top
N= 383 4 barrell Carburator
B= Built in Hamtramck,MI
The rest of the Vin # is the sequential code for the car.
This color Winchester Gray is quit rare only a select few were made !!
This was a special build for a dealership that the owner of that built the car and it sat in his show room floor for many years as a trophey car. We asked why the car didn’t come with the shaker hood and it was because of the factory AC system. So that’s what the “S” stands for in the vin # custom ” Special” build.
We do know that at some point the car went under a mild restoration and recieved new factory paint and for whatever reason the 383 engine was replaced along with the transmission and was repaired & replaced by the owner of a Plymouth.
Things that are a special and rare on the Cuda is The race style seats. These seats where not a usual item found in Cuda’s as there is a special shoulder restraint belt on inside top of the window. The Rim-Blow steering wheel is also quite special as where you could only get it being ordered from the factory. As where Most Cuda’s come with one fender tag displaying all the options this Cuda has two FUll Ones !!
Please note this car has NEVER been in any kind of accident at all. This car has been a trophey car for a Plymouth Dealership in Texas where the car has Historical Vintage plates on it. The original mileage is 39,xxx.’
