New Hennessey Venom F5 Could Do 300 MPH?

The Hennessey Venom is one of the most potent American supercars around and in its new incarnation, the F5 could very well hit the 300mph range. The idea of the car is to challenge the Bugatti Chiron as the fastest production super/hyper car. The current Hennessey Venom GT has a twin turbo 7L V8 engine producing 1,244 hp and 1,155 lb-ft. so it will be very interesting to see what the new vehicle has under the hood. Bugatti in responds say that the Chiron could go to 300 mph, but there are simply no street legal tires safe enough for the job at present. This won’t stop the Texas outfit from pushing the boundaries and the new vehicle should be completely street legal with over 1500 HP expected.

Bugatti was able to hit 267.8 mph in July 2010 at the Volkswagen Group’s Ehra-Lessien, with another attempt planned for 2018 to get over the 280 mph mark with the right tires.

The new car will be built from the ground up. No exact specifications have been released as yet but it’s even possible that a hybrid or electric powertrain could be utilised to try and reach the astounding 300 mph level.
