A New Dodge AWD and Wide Body Hellcat Challenger Car Maybe Coming Soon
By David Ashton
Over the next year Dodge are revitalising their Challenger and Charger linup with some new, exciting models.
According to Automotive News Dodge will unveil an all wheel drive version named the Challenger GT AWD. This also coincide with a wide body version of the 707Hp Hellcat called the Challenger ADR.
As the current Dodge line up is starting to age and some models are starting to be phased out, such as the Dodge Dart and Dodge Viper, it’s just as well this is the year of new models being announced.
As the rumor mill starts to grind away, it’s unclear at this point if the ADR will be two or four-wheel drive, but as the FCA are planning to use the hellcat engine in a four-wheel-drive Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk in the future, so the AWD system seems to be on the cards for the company for the next few years.
Other murmurs from the company have included a lighter bodied version of both the Challenger and Charger, based on the the Alfa Romeo Giulia for 2018 and a convertible version a few years later.
A two-door convertible Barracuda also seems to be tipped to be debuted in 2021 along with a revival of the Charger Daytona later this year.
Basically, if you’re a Dodge/Mopar/muscle car fan, it’s exciting times ahead.
