The New Camaro: The Best Camaro Ever?
The latest breed of muscle cars seem to be getting better every year with each new release.
The New Camaro is no different according to the review over at Road and Track, but it hasn’t always been a straightforward climb.
Starting with the 2010 model, it was initial excitement which was dampened by the bad interior visibility and heavy performance. However, Camaros still sold like hotcakes, showing that the public wanted a cutting edge Camaro, it was just kind of not all the way there yet.
Fast forward to 2016 and the tested Camaro 2SS model, which starts at $46,095 is a completely different story.
The interior has been upgraded to a more slick modern design. Better visibility, lighter in weight by 300 pounds and an upgraded suspension, amongst the many other tweaks.
Now, with the arrival of the new ZL1 and a possible new future Z/28, the progression rate seems to be faster in the muscle car market than anywhere else.
All this means that the Camaro and the new crop of muscle cars don’t just have the looks now, but also the handling, interior and performance, which was always the biggest points for the naysayers.
Maybe, it’s now time for those Italian and German high-performance vehicles to take second place, with the American muscle counterparts being also better priced.
Win-win for everybody….except for the naysayers.
