Mom’s 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe Upgrade
By Dave Ashton
This video comes courtesy of Holley performance which shows a 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe owned by Thomas Gale Jr. of Madison, Tennessee getting the upgrade treatment. The car had been a family asset for many years and after being sat in the backyard for 10 years, was due for a transformation.
The upgrade included the 302ci. V8 engine being bored out to 347 ci, Holley carburettors added and a tunnel-ram intake. This flows through a C4 automatic transmission and 9 inch rear end with 3.11 gears. Other upgrades included Auto Meter gauges, MSD ignition system, B&M shifter and for the interior a roll cage and new race seats.
Just looking at the rear end view with those huge fat tires shows the journey this car went through to go from what was a regular Mustang to incredible pro Street.
Check out the short video to see the complete upgrade and how this Mustang still looks the business in 2017.
