John Cena: A True Muscle Car Fan
John Cena has proven himself time and time again as one of the best in the wrestling world. He has also built up a career in the film world, but most importantly he has a fantastic classic muscle car collection.
John’s car collection is ever-changing, with cars constantly being added to the collection, which also include 1970s Buick GSX, 71 Plymouth Roadrunner, 1970 Plymouth Superbird, 66 Dodge hemi-charger, 71 Ford Torino GT, 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator and a 69 Dodge Daytona, amongst others.
His collection ranges from the old to the new muscle cars and if you were in any doubt about his muscle car credentials, his daily ride is a 1971 AMC Hornet SC/360, not the obvious choice, but an enthusiast’s choice, who has knowledge in the field.
So here are some of the best muscle car pics from John’s collection.
1969 COPO Camaro
You would expect that a guy like John Cena who owns a Camaro as part of a muscle car collection, would only own a rarity and here is such a car in his 69 COPO Camaro.
COPO’s were essentially rare optioned, dealer requested cars, with extra ‘umph,’ now priced as the rarest of the muscle cars.
You really won’t find a better example of a COPO Camaro.
1970 Pontiac GTO Judge
You have the GTO, then you have the GTO Judge. The ‘judge’ was a $332 option on top of the standard GTO package, which was a 455Cu engine and other options.
A classic all the way.
2006 Ford GT
The original Ford GT proved its original worth in racing and the super car world. It was brought back to take on the likes of Ferrari, using the Cobra R type supercharged V8, making 550 hp and and 500 lb-ft of torque.
Now one of the most expensive muscle cars of both the old and new era.
The thing is, I would really like to see how John gets into this car as they are so low down on the floor!
2009 Corvette ZR1
The C6 Corvette was already coming into its own, when Chevy released the ZR1. With a new LS9 powerplant, dry sump oil system and Eaton TVS supercharger, the ZR one became a giant killer, like its owner!
Although Mr. Cena buys all-American, he understands this isn’t the case now with everybody.
‘The market has opened up. A BMW is a great performing car, a great luxury car and a status symbol. That was Cadillac in the ’70s; that was Mercury in the ’70s. It’s switched now, it is a different time and they just need to recapture that.’
…maybe John could be the next spokesperson to push the new crop of muscle cars?
Really, would anybody argue with him?!?
