Ford Mustang Now Launch In India In RHD

It’s great to write about muscle cars abroad as I feel like the International journalist here, ‘and now for muscle cars in the foreign markets.’
But here we are with the news of a right-hand drive Ford Mustang to be launched in India.
Although muscle cars should only come in left-hand drive, this severely limits its sales potential for the rest of the world. So, for the breed to live on, it has to also be in a right-hand drive countries of the world and the Mustang seems to be doing this very well.

After a showing at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo., the Mustang is all set to be released in India with four engine options.
A 2.3-litre, 4-cylinder EcoBoost, a 3.7-litre V6 and a 5.0-litre V8 in the GT model. The 5.2-litre V8 version from the GT350 won’t be available, but the GT may be plenty of power for most.
Transmissions will come in a manual and a six speed automatic.

It will be interesting to see how the sixth generation Mustang fares in the Indian continent. It is a potential large market and one which the other muscle car builders should be taking note of. in many ways, the Mustang is paving the way for the muscle car breed across the globe. So, if the Mustang sells well in other countries, others may follow suit with right-hand drive models.

Prices are expected around Rs 70 lakh.
