Ford Mustang Bullitt Hits Isle of Man TT Roads
By Dave Ashton
The Isle of Man, just off the west coast of England, may sound a little familiar as it the hosts the annual TT (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle race, being one of the trickiest road courses in the world. There’s plenty of videos online showing motorcycles blast round this course at breakneck speeds, showing up close just exactly how taxing this course can be.
In this video it’s the turn of the latest incarnation of the Mustang Bullitt to try out the road course driven by ex-racing driver Steve Sutcliffe, who also gives a great commentary about the island, the car and the course. The 37.73-mile circuit is everything you would want to test out the capabilities of a vehicle, with sharp corners and a 13.35-mile road without speed limits. It’s a cross between the German autobahns, with twists and turns up and down hill, dramatic scenery and very changeable weather, if you’re not there at the peak of summer.
You can see from the video that some of the roads are partially covered with fog and wet driving surfaces, really putting the car through its paces.
The Mustang Bullitt is currently available to buy commemorating the 1968 Steve McQueen movie Bullitt and its 50th anniversary. the
