Find Of The Day: 1982 Ford Mustang GT IMSA
By Dave Ashton

Transmission: T5 five-speed manual
VIN: 1FABP16F0CF195420
Mileage: 85,000
Current bid: $12,500.00
Fox body Mustangs may not be the most collectable, but they are an ideal platform for many upgrades and this one is no exception having the rare IMSA flared wide body. By 1982, the GT had come back with many options, including foglamps, rear spoilers, front air dam and hood scoop. The design may be far removed from its early ancestors, almost more in line with its European counterparts, but I think this stands more as a unique plus point for the times it was made.
This version has the rare IMSA package with huge flared wheel arches. No subtlety here! At the time they sold for $8,397 with 23,447 being made. This example looks in great condition, both inside and out. The car didn’t have a great amount of power rated at 157 HP and 240 lb-ft of torque, but we’re talking the 80s here for power ratings. You also get a T5 five-speed manual transmission, Koni suspension and 3.55 gears.
Sporting luxuries such as the roll cage, Recaro seats and other IMSA options give it that distinctive 80s look, that can be seen as its advantage distinctive to its decade.
The hole cards in great condition and that current bid of $12,500 , with only two days left this fox body could be a great addition to anybody’s driveway.
