This 1970 Ford Torino GT Convertible may not be the most expensive car on the planet, but in the right hands could make a great restoration project. The car has clearly seen better days, but as the ad. says, ‘A little over three thousand ’70 Torino convertibles were built’ means you will have a surefire muscle car rarity on your hands.
Clearly, much work is needed to get this ride back in good condition. The body is showing clear signs of rust and the convertible top will definitely need replacing. However, the undercarriage looks quite solid, so you have a good base to work from. This model was produced in 1970-1971 and definitely show’s its distinctive features such as the trim rings, wheel covers and honeycomb taillights. The interior will need new seats and carpeting, but shows that the metalwork is in solid condition. The automatic transmission is located here, which will need strapping down before transported away.
Although the engine is missing on this listing, it does at least have a low initial listing price of $2500, which is at least reasonable enough to get the bidding started. Even in restored condition you’re looking at a car worth between 24 and $36,000 and good to excellent condition according to Hagerty . But with an initial low starting bid, this listing should at least whet your appetite for a winter project car.
