Find Of The Day: 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
By Dave Ashton
This seller seems to crop up quite often on eBay and seems to be able to get hold of muscle and pony cars in great condition at pretty reasonable prices. This one being a 1970 Chevrolet Camaro with what seems like added Z/28 extras, i.e. ‘1970 Camaro With Z28 Options added.’
The bodywork on this Camaro is in fine condition inside and out with the paint being said to be a couple of years old, which presumably means it’s had some sort of restoration in the near past. The Z28 extras seem to include a steel cowl hood, Z28 rims and stripes, chin spoiler Z28 badging and other extras which include new front disc brakes and Edelbrook intake and carb.
The Camaro has a 350 CID engine, which is said to have done 32,000 miles. There is no other details about the engine, so presumably this mileage is either from a crate engine or from when it was reconditioned. From the looks of the images provided, everything looks new here so my guess is it’s a replacement engine that has been driven in. The white painted on stripes breaks up the beautiful Hugger Orange and finishes of the exterior quite nicely.
All things considered with the asking price of $19,975, you’re getting a resto modded 1970 Camaro dressed up as a Z/28, but with the upgrades and its great condition, it’s worth the asking price. A real 1970 Z/28 may cost you twice the price, so it’s the balancing act between what you get for your money and authenticity here that counts.
