Find Of The Day: 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS
You really can’t beat the beauty of an original Camaro.
This example is both a great features, a Z/28 and the RS package. This car was built in the 4th. week of June 1970 at the Van Nuys GM plant in California.
This one comes with the original Fisher Body Build Sheet, a date correct but not original LT1 350ci V8, Double Hump GM heads, Winters Snowflake Aluminum High-Rise Intake and a Holley 780cfm 4 barrel carburetor #3923209DZ, with Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers exhausting into 2 1/2″ pipes with “H” pipe crossover and Flowmaster 40 series Delta Flow mufflers.
There is a whole host of other features listed here, like the POHO3A with the Hurst shifter, 12-bolt rear end, 3.73 to 1 ratio with positraction.
The car sounds like it has had a full restoration with some upgrades like a new sound system, new carpets, weather stripping and exhaust.
One thing to note in the comments was why no z-28 sign to the cowl tag.
The reply given, ‘The 1970 Camaro was not released by Chevrolet until February of 1970, usually cars are released for sale in September of 1969, that’s why some people call it a 1970 1/2 Camaro. The cowl tag did not start with the Z28 designation until 1971. That is one of the reasons why it is important to have a build sheet like this car has. I know on ebay the picture is hard to read, but if you buy car you will be able to see it. Check my copy I have on ebay, I took a blank Build sheet and duplicated the info onto it.’
A fantastic example of the 1970s Z/28 RS.
