Find OF The Day: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro With 2002 Drivetrain
By David Ashton
Not all 1969 Camaro barn finds come along with an upgraded powertrain, but this is what you have here, folks.
This base Camaro X44, which originally had a six cylinder has now been modified with a 2002 Camaro Ls1 5.7L engine and matching 4l60E automatic transmission taken from a 2002 Camaro Z/28.
The car needs the exhaust system completing and the seller has two pairs of mufflers which come with the deal.
It seems other bits and bats have come from the 2002 Camaro, such as the tank, fuel lines and some other editions such as the gauges, which makes this car a potential nice sleeper vehicle with some work.
The worst part really seems to be just the scruffy paintwork, with minimal rust here and there, but that depends on if you want to keep it as a ratty Camaro.
Bringing this back to show condition will need some extensive work, but nothing like the work needed for a complete restoration.
You get quite bit of information with this ride from the bodywork which seems to be quite solid to the interior, which seems to need new seats, carpets, headliner dash pad and possible armrests.
The car is at a current bid of $16,301, with around a day and a half to go.
This Camaro won’t be a future rarity, but if you want a vintage Camaro with modern upgrades, this one maybe just worth a shot.
