Find Of The Day: 1965 Plymouth Barracuda
By David Ashton
This 1965 Plymouth Barracuda has apparently been sitting in a barn for 38 years and is now ready for its next custodian.
It comes with a 273 ‘LA’ V8 engine, which is said to turn over and only need plugs and wires, but in reality will probably need a complete strip down to get in full working order.
The exterior of the car looks in reasonable condition, no signs of major rust spots, apart from on the front quarter panels and all the glass intact. There are no shots of the underside of the car, but all the usual tell-tale signs seem to show a reasonably solid vehicle.
The interior does look in great shape, with no signs of over wear on the seats or anywhere else. The headliner looks in good condition, but the rear seats have some weird dirt marks on them, which I think could be easily be cleaned out.
The ad says the car has 05166.3 on the odometer but this can’t be verified.
For the asking price of $7500, currently available on Craigslist you’re not going to make a ton of money on restoring this fish, especially with a lower powered engine, but the asking price won’t break the bank and it will be a great project, if brought back to life.
