Find Of The Day: 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210
By Dave Ashton
A 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is in the classic collectors market and should be finished off ideally in its original condition. However, some modern upgrades here and there may give better performance and more longevity to the car.
This one has had a full frame off restoration, but also with other upgrades. The most obvious being those wheels which in this case, give it a bit of a restmod feel, which I’m not sure about on a classic like this one.
The restoration process is said to be stripped back to the metal and covered in a sumptuous Rally Red paint. The stainless down the sides, around the glass and the grill were replaced and the chrome work brought back to life.
Those wheels being 18 inch and 20 inch Billet Specialties.
The interior comes in off-white cream leather with tan carpets. This is followed on with custom door panels and seat covers.
The engine is a 350 V8 with a polished aluminium intake, valve covers, breather, AC Compressor and brackets. The transmission is a 350 Turbo linked to a 10 bolt rear end.
Other upgrades include a power rack steering, fuel tank and the floors and frame painted.
For a total restoration like this, you will be paying upwards of $44,000, which is the current bid, but for this much work on such classic with only 3, 761 miles on the revamped engine, it may be worth a look.
