Dodge Viper ACR vs. Dodge Challenger Hellcat
It is usual for these type of head-to-head drag races to be between competing manufacturers.
Here we have Dodges most track capable car, the Dodge Viper ACR against the most powerful muscle, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The race taking place at shifts3ctors 1/2 Mile AirStripAttack.
The contenders
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has a 6.2L Hemi 707HP and 650lbs. ft. of torque powetrain, weighing in at around 4,500lbs. The car is fitted with an eight speed automatic transmission with some sort of ‘bolt on’ mod. It is unclear from the video what this feature actually is.
The 2016 Dodge Viper ACR has a 8.4L V10 engine with 645HP 600lbs. ft of torque, with a six speed manual transmission, weighing in at around 3400lbs. Although the ACR is an enhanced version of the Viper, it is completely stock.
The Viper is lighter, but the Hellcat hs had some ‘mods.’ the Viper has a better power to weight ratio., but once the Challenger gets going, could it’s weight and power give it the momentum to win?
As you will see, the drivers make the difference here.
