Carvana, Car Vending Machine Opens In Texas
By Dave Ashton
An online car retailer Carvana have recently opened a coin-operated car vending machine in Austin, Texas, where potential car buyers can purchase their next vehicle just like a packet of crisps.
The company, which is dubbed as ‘Amazon for autos’ uses a five storey structure where customers are given an oversized coin after ordering their chosen vehicle online. The structure holds 20 vehicles and has 3 bays for delivery. Once the customer receives their vehicle, they are handed the keys.
The co-founder of Carvana Ryan Keeton said to FOX 7 Austin, ‘People will bring their families and their friends it’s like a gathering right, they’re social media-ing, they’re capturing, they’re showing the video it’s really fun.’
It could turn out to be quite a cool concept where you order for example, a new Camaro online then pop down to your local vending machine to get delivery. Obviously, there’s no shaking of the machine, but you can still stand around and discuss who you hate most in the office. We are guessing the spectacle of having your new car delivered will be your prime focus here.
