I have a friend who cannot understand the joys of a great drag race, but loves to watch the 100m sprint at the Olympics.
So, to get the point across you explain things in a context they understand.

The 100m sprint is roughly 9 seconds, but it’s arguably the most popular event in athletics with the highest paid and highest profile athletes. A drag race is like this, has the same elements plus so much more.
It’s the excitement and drama of the buildup, the final race and most important, the joy, exhilaration and mutual respect after the race. (you don’t see many athletes shaking hands and congratulating each other after a race!)
Obviously, not to forget the incredible cars taking part and the guys behind them.
Point given.

Which brings us on to the video of two of the best outlaw racers.
Personally, I would rather watch this over and over than an Olympic final hundred meters sprint, plus the winner here gets the prize money straightaway!
