Barn Find Dodge Charger Daytona Sells At Mecum Auction
The all original Dodge Charger Daytona which had widespread internet coverage, found in a barn in Alabama, went under the block at Mecum on Friday, January 22 2016 for $90,000.
The 2016 Mecum Kissimmee auction, lot F186, was surrounded by other muscle cars in the Monumental Muscle group, which were also up for auction, with the Dodge Charger Daytona gaining the most interest. The obvious back story and finding a rarity like this car, got everybody wondering what the final auction price would be.
Some said despite the rarity it will cost far too much to restore, while others saw this as an opportunity of a lifetime.
Although an obvious rarity, it was not a Hemi or four speed – a 440ci. car, but that didn’t stop the final bidder, kept anonymous paying $90,000.
We posted a Dodge Charger Daytona recently which was selling online for $245,000 – another 440 and numbers matching, which means the owner of the barn find should have some clear profit when/if they eventually sell.
This won’t be the last we hear of this barn find Dodge Daytona, so check back for future updates on how this rare muscle car progresses.
