The Amazing Color Changing ‘Paramagnetic Paint.’

Like everybody else, when I first saw this video, I thought I need to get my car painted with this incredible paint. How amazing would it be to change the color of your car whenever you like or have it change on the fly. Amazing stuff.

However, this video and similar ones going round the internet are simply clever bits of video manipulation, making the car color change in software, rather than in reality.

The video you see here is the first one we came across featuring any type of muscle car. There is also no other evidence online that any car manufacturer or anyone else for that matter produce any color changing paint like you see here.
This did get us thinking that although these videos have been manipulated, it should give the paint manufacturers a spark of an idea to see if this is possible in the future.
There has been talk of companies such as Nissan trying to produce a ‘paramagnetic’ paint that applies an electric current through the paint to change the color, but that is as far as the technology seems to have come up to now.

You never know, we may just have it as a paint option in the future, but for now we have to rely on the videos to give us an idea of what could be possible.
