Watch This Plymouth Belvedere Rear Axle Explode

There’s nothing like watching a classic muscle car steam down the dragstrip and this initially seems to be the case with this Plymouth Belvedere. However, not everything goes as planned.

Just as the Plymouth Belvedere goes to take off, it doesn’t get much further than the Christmas tree before the rear axle and suspension seem to completely come apart. There’s a horrible sound before the Belvedere grinds to a halt, with brackets hanging down, possibly indicating a ladder bar suspension conversion which hasn’t gone as planned.

The driver’s side rear wheel seems to go almost instantly, with the rest of the rear end falling apart just as quick.

The poor vehicle is then towed back to the start line with the owner, having potentially lots of expensive work ahead.
