By Dave Ashton
The Fast & Furious movie franchise are renowned for their muscle cars, so it’s no surprise that custom vehicles have been ordered from the likes of SpeedKore Performance Group, a Grafton company. The company supplied three cars for the eighth instalment of the franchise.
The three cars in question from the Wisconsin based company are the ‘Tantrum’ a 1970 Dodge Charger, ‘Menace’ a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro and development work for Dom’s ‘Ice Charger.’
Initially the vehicles were for private clients until the Fast & Furious crew saw them at the SEMA, Las Vegas auto show winning awards. In 2015 the “Tantrum” won the Gran Turismo’s “Best Domestic” award and the custom car builders award 2016 Car Craft Pro Builders Trophy.
SpeedKore have had one of their vehicles featured in a Fast & Furious movie in the past in Fast & Furious 6 with a ’70 Barracuda AAR Tribute.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also seems to be a fan of the “Menace” as a posted on these Instagram count a picture of himself next to the 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda flexing his muscles.
