Find Of The Day: 1969 Ford Cobra Fastback, 428-CJ.

This is a surefire rarity in the form of a 1969 Ford Cobra Fastback with a 428-CJ V8 engine. It comes with a MARTI report verifying it is a real Cobra with all its designated factory options – R-code Ram-Air 428, C6, PS, PDB, AC, Buckets, Traction-Lock, etc.

The car is listed as being originally sold at Freeway Ford in Los Angeles California and still has the Original R-code 428-CJ engine. This one is only 1 of 1135 with Candy Apple Red paint & Black interior and 1 of only 932 with Factory Air Conditioning.

The motor has been rebuilt in the past and bored .40 over, with some other changes such as a new set of 3.89 gears (Traction-Lock) optimise for short distance runs, but apart from that, it seems everything has been kept as per the original. It also comes with the original Magnum 500 wheels, AC compressor, Ram-Air rubber boot for the air cleaner, and the original intake manifold.

The car is stated as not being a show car and it does have cosmetic flaws, but the rest of the vehicle seems in great condition, especially considering its rarity. The ad. seems to give you plenty of information about the vehicle which is always a good thing.

The ad. says that the car has been assessed and insured at around $50,000, but is asking $35,000 and may consider a trade if you have a nice 1965 – 1973 Mustang, Torino, Fairlane or Ranchero. For any Ford fan out there this is a true rarity and shouldn’t take much work to get back into prime condition.
