An Amazing V12 Mid Price American 1932 Custom Auburn
By Dave Ashton
Auburn produce vehicles from 1900 to 1937 in Auburn, Indiana and here we have a 1932 Auburn Custom V12 with 160 HP and costs less than a Cord and Duesenberg at the time. the engine was 391 CI. V12 side valve with twin carbs and automatic ignition. The car even had a freewheeling action that uncouple the powertrain to allow it to roll down hills.
The two tone paint work accentuates the body lines and costing less than its competition at the time, the sad part was only a few thousand were eventually sold, with the company eventually seeing its demise in the 1937 Great Depression. It was arguably faster than the rest at a smaller pricetag. A great piece of American automotive history.
